What we treat

By Trigger.

One comprehensive serum covers most of what you breathe; a second covers the common foods.
The pattern

Same Immune Mistake, Different Address.

Every allergic condition starts the same way: the immune system treats something harmless as a threat and releases histamine to fight it.Where that inflammation lands decides the diagnosis. In the skin it is eczema or hives. In the mouth it is oral allergy syndrome. In the airways it is asthma. In the sinuses it is one infection after another.Creams, inhalers and antibiotics treat the address. Immunotherapy treats the mistake.

Clothing

The Jeans That Suddenly Itch.

Textile dermatitis comes less from the fabric than from what it is treated with.Formaldehyde resins keep shirts wrinkle-free and lock dye into denim. Para-phenylenediamine keeps black fabric black and hair dye lasting. Synthetics like spandex, rayon and polyester hold these finishes against warm, sweaty skin.Old clothes can start reacting too. The immune system can decide to overreact at any point, even to something worn for years.
Common triggers

Nickel, Latex, Poison Ivy.

NickelMore than 18 percent of North Americans react to it. Cheap gold and silver jewelry is usually nickel underneath, and it hides in zippers, eyeglass frames, phones and coins.
LatexGloves, balloons, elastic and medical supplies. Reactions range from a local rash to hives and wheezing, and latex cross-reacts with banana, avocado and kiwi.
Poison ivy, oak and sumacUrushiol oil in the plants causes a blistering rash one to three days after contact. Wash skin and clothing promptly; the oil spreads on tools and pets.

Finding the cause

Narrow It Down.

01
Map the rashEarlobes and neck point to jewelry. Waistband and thighs point to clothing. Hands point to gloves, tools or products.
02
Swap and watchNickel-free jewelry, formaldehyde-free or washed-several-times clothing, unscented products. If the rash fades, you have your answer.
03
Patch testingA provider can apply suspect chemicals to the skin under patches and read the reaction after two days when the trigger stays unclear.
